A few years ago, I was hanging out in the Old Port with the BF, checking out an exhibit at the Science Center. Low and behold, there's an arts & crafts fair going on IN the Science Center. Well, BF didn't look super excited, but you bet your behind I was absolutely thrilled. Now I was in a phase of my life where I just could not leave any sort of commercial situation empty-handed, so I was taking my sweet time to sift through every item on each vendor's table. I walked around - twice - BF showed signs of antsyness - thrice - and then I stopped.

Valentine's Day blows.
It's like a mild form of hell for single people. And for the rest of 'em, it's the one day of the year that an abundance of shleps fancy themselves romantics by surprising (read: "surprising") their SO with a bouquet of roses and box of chocolates. *sigh* Nothing quite says 'I'm an unoriginal tool' like snatching up an overpriced bouquet of roses on February 14th.
